We will disappoint those wishing for #EndASUU Protest ― Ngige

 The Federal Government reassured that the prolonged strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) would soon come to an end Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, gave the assurance in his opening remarks at the social dialogue between the government and ASUU. A statement signed by the Deputy Director and Head of Press, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Charles Akpan, quoted the minister as saying that those who are wishing for an EndASUU protest, will be disappointed. He spoke against the backdrop of the ultimatum purportedly issued by Nigerian students to embark on protest if the ASUU strike was not resolved by January 15. NANS wants State Varsities, Polytechnics to enjoy Federal Projects

 The National Association of Nigerian Students has said it will not relent in ensuring that some of the benefits being enjoyed by only federal universities will be extended to federal polytechnics and some state-owned institutions. NANS National President, Sunday Asefon, during a visit to the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Dr Hephzibah Oladebeye, said the association would not shy away from ensuring quality welfare for students in all parts of the country. Varsity Workers may go on Strike over Unpaid Allowances - SSANU Chairman

 THE Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities has given the Federal Government a December ultimatum to implement the new minimum wage by releasing funds to clear the backlog of new minimum wage arrears due to her members or risk industrial unrest. SSANU National President, Mohammed Ibrahim, who made the call in Yola, warned that another strike action by the union was inevitable because the government had proved to be “untrustworthy” in honouring negotiations.
