COVID-19: UniAbuja Teaching Hospital Honours 100 Frontline Staff

 The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada Abuja has given award to 100 staff who worked tirelessly to attend to COVID-19 cases at the facility. The Chief Medical Director, UATH, Prof. Bissalla Ekele at the presentation of the award to the outstanding staff said the recognition was to boost the morale of the staff. The CMD said the first confirmed case in FCT, Abuja four weeks after the Lagos case on February 27, 2020, was admitted at UATH (the first and the only hospital then in FCT with the capacity to manage COVID-19). He also said the frontline healthcare workers as at December 1, 2020, had managed 313 cases of COVID-19 (mostly moderate to severe cases that needed oxygen support).
